Zonohedron Beta5" x 3" x 3" © Bathsheba L. Grossman, 1993Machined aluminum, stainless steel screws, brass hinges and capnuts, edition of 5. This piece rose out of some programming work I did for Paul Steinhardt, a physicist at the University of Pennsylvania, studying a new form of matter called quasicrystals. It is one of four related designs, the rest of which are not pictured here. The largest, Zonohedron Delta, has forty moving parts.
