Like the gyroid, this model demonstrates a triply periodic minimal surface, this one truncated to a rhombic dodecahedron.  These surfaces are a fascinating group – there's scarcely one I wouldn't like to try.  For this one I've widened the mesh so it becomes quite transparent.
