People are sometimes curious about the circumstances of my work, so here are some pictures of where it happens. My studio is two 10 x 12 sheds in my front yard. The blue shed is my design space, where I keep reference materials, or as I think of them, my toys. In order to get ideas, I chiefly noodle around with modeling clay.
And the red shed houses a small metal shop, where I do finishing and fabrication.
The shot on my statement page is of my home office, which is like any home office except that the heaps include a bit more sculpture than average. There's also a spare bedroom that's used as storage, photo studio, and mailroom, but it's not very interesting-looking. The moral of this page is that you don't necessarily need a lot of room to make art: these spaces are the size of office cubicles. Lastly, my husband says my picture on the statement page looks like Jack Nicholson in The Shining, so here's a couple more.
